Southwest Governor appeals to the population to actively participate in the clean city campaign

The Governor of the Southwest Region has appealed to the citizens of the region to actively participate in the clean city campaign by keeping their environment, surroundings, and other strategic places like parks, schools, and hospitals clean.

The 'Clean City Campaign' is an annual event geared towards reminding the denizens of the region of the need to keep their environments and surroundings clean.

The Governor, Bernard Okalia Belai transmitted his message in a release from his office on Wednesday 15th June 2022.

The release further adds that the clean-up campaign would run from the day of the release to June 30th.

In the release, the Governor called on youth groups, and women groups, to participate in the keep municipality clean campaign in the region adding that undisclosed handsome prizes would be handed over to the winners in the various categories.

While appealing to the denizens of the region to fully participate in the exercise, the Governor announced that a regional inspection team would be sent out to ascertain the effectiveness of the exercise. He did not spell out any timetable.
