Mexican authorities said Friday that Rafael Caro Quintero, a founding member of one of Mexico's largest drug cartels, had been apprehended by the Navy.
Quintero is a founding member of the Guadalajara Cartel, an organization that has spawned three of the largest drug cartels in Mexico. The Guadalajara cartel is believed to have been the main supplier of marijuana, cocaine, and heroin to the United States, making it the primary target of U.S. authorities, Anadolu reports.
