NW/SW: PM appeals for population support to eradicate separatists



The Prime Minister Head of Government has appealed to the population of the Northwest and Southwest regions to assist the government to eradicate the activities of separatists in the two regions.


Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute made this appeal while chairing the 4th follow-up commission of the Grand National Dialogue that took place in Yaounde on Thursday 4th August 2022.

Addressing the meeting attended by key stakeholders, the PM said the socio-economic situation in the Northwest and Southwest regions, in his words, "significantly improving with time" adding the Government is working tirelessly to restore complete peace and serenity in the two regions.


According to Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, the release of prisoners, the creation of the Ministry of Decentralization, and the creation of the Houses of Chiefs and the Regional Houses in the two regions, are some of the fallouts of the Grand National Dialogue that took place in Yaounde in 2019.


The follow-up meeting was attended by some Anglophones in the diaspora, notably Paddy Asanga.
