Northwest: Fon Angwafor IV is the new Fon of Mankon

The new Fon of Mankon, Bamenda II subdivision, Northwest Region has been enthroned.

He is Fru Asah Angwafor henceforth to be referred to as Fon Angwafor IV.

The enthronement exercise carried out by the Mankon kingmakers took place at the Mankon palace on Tuesday 7th June 2022. Fon Angwafor IV, took over from Fon Solomon Anyeghamoti Ndefru Angwafor III who went to the land of his ancestors on Saturday 21st May 2022 at the age of 97,

The death of Fon Angwafor III was announced by Northwest Governor Lele Lafrique, in a statement on May 22. In the statement, the Governor said the Fon passed on to glory on the night of 21 May 2022 in his palace after a protracted illness.

Despite the precarious security situation many sons and daughters of Mankon braved the odds to attend the enthronement of Fon Angwafor IV as the new Fon of Mankon.
