Northwest: Defense Minister tells military to neutralize separatists who refuse to surrender

The military has been instructed to neutralize all separatists fighters who refuse to surrender.


This appeal was made by the Minister Delegate in charge of Defense at the Presidency of the Republic, Joseph Beti Assomo, yesterday in the Northwest capital of Bamenda while installing the new military commanders recently appointed by president Paul Biya.

Those installed included Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo, who takes over from Brigadier General Nka Valere and Brigadier General Housseini Djibo, who replaces Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine Nnoko.


We obsverve that the new commanders were appointed by presidential decree No:2022/299 signed on the 14th July 2022.


The two newly-installed generals now head the 5th joint military regions which covers the Northwest and West Regions with command post in Bamenda.


General Bouba Dobekreo and General Housseini Djibo are experts in guerilla war fare we have been informed.
