Ndian: Separatists release abducted Bongongo 1 Regent after shooting him in the leg

The regent of the Bongongo 1 Chiefdom, Pa Mbelle Abel Ababa, who has been in separatist captivity since last May has been released. But before being released he was shot in the leg. Pa Abel was abducted alongside four others and taken to an unknown destination. His captors later demanded the sum of 9 million FCFA for his release.
We gathered that last Thursday at about 4 am, his captors believed to be Amba boys stormed Bongongo 1, firing in the air to announce their presence.
According to our source, Pa Abel and the other captors were taken to the market square beside the Presbyterian Church where two of the captors were shot dead.
Pa Abel and one elderly captor were later shot in the leg.
They are now receiving treatment in Limbe.
The Prime minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, is the traditional ruler of Bongongo 1 in the Ndian Division.
