"Most of the Separatists in Ngoketungia are strangers" - MP for Ndop
Updated: Jul 31, 2022
The member of Parliament for Ndop Babessi sub-Division, Ngoketungia in the Northwest region, has said most of the armed separatists operating in his Division are children recruited from other areas and sent to Ndop to create havoc.
Hon Njingum made this comment to the press on the sideline of the 7th session of the Northwest Regional House that took place in Bamenda on Friday 29 July 2022.
Hon Njingum said his findings were based on research he carried out but failed to explain why some people would recruit armed separatists from elsewhere and then send them to destabilize another place, especially his Division.
He went on to claim that there are no longer armed bandits in Douala and Yaounde given all of them have been recruited and sent to Ngoketungia, adding to eliminate this danger Ngoketungia needs a military base.
Observers suggest that the MP needs a military presence in his constituency, the reason he is making these allegations.
We note that this is not the first time Hon. Njingum Musa is appealing for a military base from the state.
We also note that one of the dreaded separatists, General No Pity of Bambalang comes from Hon. Njingum constituency.
