Military Engineering corps to take over construction of Kumba-Ekondo Titi Akwa road

President Paul Biya has ordered the military Engineering Corps known as GENIE Militaire to resume construction work on the Kumba-Ekondo Titi Akwa road BiVoundi 24 News has been informed.
BiVoundi 24 News recalls that the construction of this stretch of the road came to a halt on Saturday 7th May 2022, following the abduction by separatists of 12 workers.
A week later, 9 of the workers were released. The fate of the three others still in the separatist's captivity remains uncertain.
The resumption of the construction work along this stretch of road is a welcome relief to the Ndian Division.
Immediately after the announcement was made, Ndian Elite, on Tuesday, June 21 sent a motion of support and thanks to the president through the Prime minister.
The Tunisian Company, SOROUBAT, initially started the construction of this road but stopped work when one of its engineers was killed and other workers kidnapped.
President Paul Biya has not given any time frame when construction work would resume.
