MEME: Handicap train to champion peace

Ten handicapped groups from all-over Meme Division in the South West Region have ended a three-day training workshop on peacebuilding organized by the Meme people with Disabilities Association, MEPEWIDA.

MEPEWIDA is the umbrella organization of handicapped groups in the Meme division.

The training titled, "Champion of Peace at the grassroots level" took place at MEPEWIDA head office in Kumba from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th July 2022.

Speaking to BiVoundi 24 News at the end of the training the president of MEPEWIDA Shadrack Bea Nanje said the training is aimed at impacting handicapped groups with peace-building knowledge and to back and impact this same knowledge to others not privileged to attend the training.

Topics covered in the course of the training included human rights monitoring, nonviolence communication, and peacebuilding, conflict resolution in the family and community

The training was funded by the international NGO National Endorsement for Democracy with REACH OUT Cameroon as implementing organization
