Marking of the June session of the GCE begins



The marking of the June Session of the General Certificate Examination (GCE) organized by the Cameroon GCE Board enters the second day today, Tuesday 2nd August 2022 in the Northwest and Southwest regions, respectively.


In the Southwest Region, the marking exercise will take place in Buea and Limbe.

The written part of the examination kicked off on Tuesday 28th June 2022 in all the approved centers in the country and ended on Saturday 16th July,


The marking exercise takes place every day from 7:30- 4 pm.


Before the marking exercise, the registrar of the board, Dominic Ndang called on the markers to embrace the exercise with care and seriousness.


The results of the GCE will be released by mid-August we have learned.

At least 180.000 candidates took part in this year's session. Statistics obtained from the GCE Board indicate that, during the 2022 session, some 182,256 candidates enrolled. It recorded an increase of 11,774 candidates as compared to last year.


The Southwest Region was third with a total number of 21,165 candidates registered for Ordinary Level examinations and 12,895 advanced level candidates as per a report from the Ministry of Secondary Education.


At the Ordinary Levels, a total of 96,922 registered and for the Advance Level section, a total of 62,517 candidates registered.
