Mali leaves the G5 Sahel force for good

Mali has officially terminated its participation in the G5 Sahel joint force, according to the Malian news site abamako.com, citing a letter from the Malian army's Chief of General Staff to the G5 Sahel commander.
The Army of Mali's Chief of General Staff has written to the G5 Sahel commander, informing him that Malian involvement in the force would terminate at the end of June and that its elements will be repatriated.
"I have the honor of informing you of the decision to discontinue the involvement of Malian personnel working in the West and Center clusters as part of the implementation of the political decision."
