KUMBA: Police postpones burial of children allegedly poisoned pending investigation findings

The police in Kumba, Meme division, Southwest Region, has appealed to the parents whose children died on Saturday 3oth August 2022 after allegedly consuming poisoned bread laced with chocolate to leave their bodies in the mortuary pending the completion of the findings of police investigation to ascertain the cause of their death BiVoundi 24 News has been informed.


The mother of 8-year-old Toh Marvin, Toh Ophelia, made this declaration in a chat with BiVoundi 24 News at her SOBA street residence on Friday 5th August.

The parents of Toh Marvin, we gathered had intended to convey her corpse to Nkambe, the Northwest Region for burial before Friday.


She also did not believe her daughter and the two other children died as a result of eating poisoned bread or inhaling pesticides as claimed by some persons.


Meantime, the woman who allegedly gave the said bread and chocolate to the children has been released by the police we have been informed after finding the bread did not contain poison.


One of the children is currently responding to treatment in a hospital in Douala.


The parents of Marvin and the parents of the other dead kids believe she will be the one to unearth the hidden truth after being discharged from the hospital.
