Kumba Health District begins its campaign against Polio

Beginning tomorrow Friday 1 July 2022, nurses and other health workers attached to the Kumba Health District will start moving from door to door to administer the polio vaccine to children within the age bracket of zero-to-five years.

The campaign aimed at preventing poliomyelitis in children in that age bracket will end on 7th July.

According to officials of the Kumba Health District, the health workers will also administer vitamin A to these children and other drugs to deworm the same.

The exercise is not compulsory but the Kumba District Hospital officials have appealed to parents to allow their children to be administered the vaccine saying it also prevents death.
