KONYE: Many feared death, houses set ablaze by soldiers in Ngolo-bolo
Updated: Aug 6, 2022

Several persons in Ngolo-bolo and Kokaka, along the Kumba-Mamfe road in the Konye subdivision, have reportedly taken refuge in nearby lush forests following a raid by the military yesterday morning in search of separatists.
The military also reportedly shot some civilians dead, arrested some, and set some houses ablaze in both villages.
Villages along the Kumba-Mamfe road have recently become targets of military raids, especially given the death of Colonel Essama Eyenga in Ikiliwindi mile1 2, in an exchange of fire between the separatists and the military on Tuesday 26th July 2022.
Some two years ago, the convoy of the Senior Divisional Officer of Meme, on his way to Konye came under separatists attack at Ngolo-bolo. He emerged unscathed, but his driver and bodyguard were wounded.
Last April, the convoy of the Divisional Officer of Konye, Atah Ndep Moses, on his way back to Kumba also came under separatists attack at Ngolo-bolo.
