IKILIWINDI: Military kills four civilians; several wounded

At least four civilians have been killed and several wounded after the military raided Ikiliwindi (mile12), Konye subdivision along the Kumba-Mamfe road on Tuesday 26th July 2022 in search of separatists we have learned.
The military raid is said to have been predicated on an attack on their convoy on Sunday by the separatists led by General Transporter.
In the ensuing confrontation, a senior military official, whose identity we only obtained as the Colonel was shot dead by the separatists.
The dead and the injured civilians, including a ten-year-old child was said to be going to the farm that early morning.
Ikiliwindi, mile12, is one of the bastions of the Separatists along the Kumba-Mamfe road.
The BIR camp now at Ikiliwindi was previously located at Konye but following frequent attacks by separatists, it was moved to its present site believed separatist incursions could easily be spotted.
Last June, the separatists attacked the Gendarmerie post behind the ul-modern hotel being constructed by the Konye Council.
The death of Colonel Eyenga, follows the recent killing of another military man, Adamu Ali, by the separatists at Kake, along the Kumba-Mbonge road on Thursday 7th July 2022.
