Gambian Football Federations files a complaint to FAF against Belmadi

The Gambian Football Federation issued a statement on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, to comment on the attacks on the Gambian referee Bakary Gassama from Algerians since the second leg of the playoff match between Algeria and Cameroon. The GFF also says it has filed an official complaint to CAF and FIFA for investigations and disciplinary proceedings against Djamel Belmadi.

"The Federation has filed an official complaint to the Algerian Football Federation on this matter and has formally requested FIFA and CAF to open investigations and disciplinary proceedings against the head coach of the Algerian national soccer team, Mr. Djamel Belmadi for his comments on a video clip." the GFF said.

In a statement, the Gambian Federation says it is "deeply concerned about the sustained verbal attacks launched against Papa Bakary Gassama. Also, the Gambian Football Federation (GFF) asks its Algerian counterpart to condemn the repeated outbursts and attacks against the referee Bakary Gassama."
