France: Female Minister faces double accusations of rape

The Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie, Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, is charged with rape in two accusations in France.
Chrysoula Zacharopoulou is already in difficulties after being appointed Secretary of State in Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne's administration. After being appointed to the government, two complaints were lodged against her. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, a gynecologist by training, is accused of raping two women while at work.
AFP reports that the Paris prosecutor's office began an investigation on Wednesday, June 22. According to the prosecutor, the initial complaint alleging rape was submitted on May 25 and the investigation began two days later. A second complaint was submitted on June 16.
