France: Emmanuel Macron reelected for a second presidential mandate



The outgoing president of France, President Emmanuel Macron has won the second round of the French presidential elections this Sunday 24th April 2022. He is succeeding himself as president of one of Europe's most powerful nations and a permanent member of the UN security council.



Mr. Macron carried a majority vote of over 58% against Marin Le Pen (Frances' Far-Right candidate) who obtained 42% of the votes. It should be noted that these two candidates reached the second round of the 2017 presidential elections in which Marin Le Pen obtained 33.9% against 66.10% for Macron.
