Former PAMOL GM is the new SWECC president



One-time PAMOL Plantations PLC General Manager, Moses Obenofonde is now the new president of the Southwest Chiefs Conference.


Chief Moses Obenofonde was elected on Saturday, 16th July 2022, during an elective general assembly that took place at the Mountain Hotel Buea.

The new president is the traditional ruler of Bajoh village in the Obang clan, in Eyumojock subdivision, Manyu Division, Southwest Region.


Speaking to journalists after his election, the new SWECC president promised to begin consultation as soon as possible in order to ensure normalcy returns to the region.


He appealed to the children of the Southwest Region to respect all authorities in place and work together for peace to return.


He takes over from chief Mafany Njie of Lifongo Village, Fako Division.


Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute was represented by the Minister, Director of cabinet, Confiance Balungeli Ebune.
