Former Kenyan President Kibaki dies at 90

Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki better known as Mwai Kibaki was a Kenyan politician who served as the third President of Kenya from December 2002 until April 2013. He had previously served as the fourth Vice-President of Kenya for ten years from 1978 to 1988 under President Daniel Arap Moi.
Kibaki, whose death was announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, is credited with reviving Kenya's then-ailing economy, but his tenure was marred by deadly violence that killed more than 1,200 Kenyans following his disputed re-election in December 2007. He died on the 21st of April 2022.
