Former Buea Diocese Chancellor laid to rest

The former Chancellor of the Diocese of Buea has been laid to rest to meet his Creator.

Rev. Father Didymus Nformi Yombo, who died in a car crash along the Yaounde-Douala highway was buried in Buea, Southwest Region, on Friday 5th August 2022.


The mortal remain of the late clergy was removed from the Fako Funeral Home Mortuary on Thursday in the presence of Christians, priests, family members, and friends.

The remains was later conveyed to the Regina Pacis Cathedral in Small Soppo where separate requiem masses were said in remembrance of the life of the priest.

Rev. Father Didymus passed away on July 19th, when his car collided with a heavy-duty truck around Puma on the Yaounde-Douala highway.

Another series of Requiem masses were said in the morning before the remains was laid to rest.


Rev. Father Didymus Nformi Yombo was reportedly preparing to further his studies in the United States of America after wrapping up over one year stay as Chancellor of the Diocese on July 15, 2022.


Another Rev. Father, Chrisanttus Bemeri Nakanda, traveling with the former Chancellor survived the accident but sustained severe injuries.
