Fokou Foberd is awarded exclusive rights for Coca-cola bottling in Gabon

The Foberd group, a subsidiary of the Cameroonian conglomerate Fokou, has taken on the Coca-Cola bottling rights for Gabon from July 1st, 2022. It takes over from Castel Group’s Sobraga, part of a wider exit of Castel-owned bottlers from Coca-Cola partnerships in Africa.
The SABC Group declared the end of manufacturing, communication, and marketing of the Coca-Cola, Cola-Cola Zero, Fanta, and Sprite brands in a press release dated May 27.
The SABC Group and The Coca-Cola Company have mutually agreed to part ways. This is the culmination of 59 years of cooperation.
This judgment applies to all Castel group businesses responsible for bottling and distributing Coca-cola products in nations such as Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cote D'Ivoire, and Egypt.
As a result of this dissociation, the Foberd Group, a Gabonese subsidiary of Cameroonian Fokou, will now manufacture and market The Coca-Cola Company's (TCCC) soft beverages in Gabon. Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, and Schweppes are the brands in question. According to the American company's release, production will begin on July 1, 2022, and will be carried out by Sofavinc, a subsidiary of the Foberd group.
