Chad: More than 800 Boko Haram fighters killed

These fighters of the Islamist sect Boko Haram were neutralized during operations in Lake Chad from March 28 to June 4, 2022.
"With the aim of creating a safe and secure environment in the Lake Chad Basin region and contributing to stabilizing the situation in areas affected by terrorist activities, the Multinational Joint Force (MNF) conducted a joint operation in the Lake Chad islands and neighboring localities from March 28 to June 4, 2022," the force's statement reads.
This operation mobilized nearly 3,000 soldiers, and more than 800 armed fighters were put out of action. "Over the course of the operation, more than 805 terrorists were neutralized," the communiqué noted, adding that "the force regrets the loss of seven (7) soldiers killed and forty-one (41) wounded.
