CAS upholds UEFA ban on Russian clubs

Bein | Following the invasion of Ukraine, the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld a ban on Russian teams competing in UEFA events.

"The challenged judgment is still in effect, and all Russian teams and clubs are still barred from competing in UEFA competitions," the CAS stated in a statement.

Spartak Moscow has been barred from the Europa League, and Russia's women's team has been barred from competing in the Euro 2022 tournament in England this summer.

The Supreme Court of Sport said it would likely rule on the Football Union of Russia's petition to overturn FIFA's decision to exclude Russia from the 2022 World Cup playoffs "before the end of this week."
