Cameroonian Ship Sinks in Russia

The Cameroon-flagged dry cargo ship Lider Bulut requested emergency rescue operations in the Krasnodar region, and Russian rescuers attempted to refloat it on Wednesday.

A first attempt to aid the Cameroonian ship failed, according to the TASS news agency.

According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, a Cameroonian cargo ship carrying fruit and vegetables came aground on a shallow spot 250 meters from the coast on Saturday off the coast of Tuapsé in the Russian region of Krasnodar. On board are 28 crew members, including Georgian and Turkish nationals.
