Cameroon dismisses 1000 military students having fake certificates

According to a letter made public on Thursday, Joseph Beti Assomo, the country's minister of defense, nearly 1,000 students enrolled in a military academy in Cameroon have been expelled due to charges of corruption.
According to Beti Assomo, the brand-new recruits for 2022 who were already undergoing training applied to join the workforce using phony credentials.
On social media, army spokesman Cyrille Serge Atonfack Guemo referred to the action as evidence of the army's "rigor and probity."
According to army officials, it was the first time the nation dismissed so many trainee soldiers due to such charges.
