Cameroon: A Covid-19 PCR test officially cost 30000 FCFA ($49.68)

In an official correspondence (6th of April 2022) addressed to the Secretary-General of the Services of the Prime Minister of Cameroon, the Secretary-General at the Presidency acting upon instructions from the Head of State, President Paul Biya, notifies that PCR test for COVID-19 will henceforth be carried out upon the payment of the sum of 30000 FCFA ($49.68).

According to the correspondence signed by the SG at the Presidency, the heads of the Health and Finance ministerial departments are hereby instructed to put in place a secure payment mechanism, in order to ensure the traceability of the funds that will be generated by this measure.
