Cameroon: 2020-2021 Exam Invigilation and Marking Arrears Paid

The Minister of State, Secretary of State at the Presidency of Cameroon to the Secretary-General at the Services of the Prime Minister.

Acting on high instructions from the President of the Republic of Cameroon, the Minister of Finance is instructed to disburse funds to the ministries of higher and basic education, in order to pay invigilation and marking arrears of teachers for the 2020-2021 GCE and Baccalaureate exams.

As such, XAF 2.7bn will be used to pay the said arrears. This reaction from the presidency follows the call for a stay-at-home strike by some teacher syndicates.
