African Union: Macky Sall will visit Moscow and Kyiv

Senegalese President Macky Sall announced on Sunday that he would soon travel to Russia and Ukraine on behalf of the African Union, which he now chairs.
The trip was supposed to take place on May 18, but it was postponed owing to scheduling concerns, according to Sall, who spoke at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Senegal refrained from voting on a United Nations resolution calling for Russia's withdrawal from Ukraine, which was overwhelmingly accepted in early March.
However, it voted in support of another resolution requesting that Russia end the war a few weeks later.
In the two resolution votes, nearly half of African countries abstained or did not vote.
